Hi my lovelies,
It has been a while since I´ve been active on my blog and there´s a good reason for that. From the last part of May until the end of June I´ve been occupied with exams and finishing High School. For those of you, that follow me on Instagram
have got a little insight into what I´ve been up to the past month. I am going to include all my June pictures from Instagram as well as some exclusive photos from my personal library. They will be listed from the newest
to the oldest,
I hope you like me doing this kind of post and perhaps continue doing them in the future?
In Denmark, we have a very traditional graduation process (so to speak). We wear hats that symbolize what we have studied during our High School period. The maroon color
band symbolizes that you´ve graduated from the Gymnasium, and the "typical" hat color is white, but me wearing a black one is the symbol that I´ve had an extra A-level-subject. What´s cool about these hats is that we designed them ourselves to a certain extent. Usually, you have your name on the back of the hat, but you can choose to have something else written there such as the date, a phrase or phone number haha.
As you can see by the photos I had my name written in gold (you could choose silver writing as well). The buttons on each side of the hat are gold plated and that simply adds the finesse to the design. Another detail is inside the hat which is a leather strap that goes all the way around inside and it´s the same leather as they use for the brand Ferrari (I know, super fancy)!
And one thing that I think that comes super handy with the unpredictable weather in Denmark is that the hat is waterproof if it starts to rain - and you can actually use it as a drinking cup.. but I didn´t go that far with it.
There´s a bunch of additional traditions that you do with
your hat but I won´t be going into details about them as this post would be super long haha! (you can probably find them on Google ;))
My class graduated from June 20-23. From the day you graduate till the end of the week is called Studenteruge
(Student week), it´s based around partying, coming together and celebrating that we´re officially students. As based on tradition, by the end of the week the class goes on a Studenterkørsel
which basically is a thing where we ride on a bus of a sort and go visit everyone's home where the families have prepared either a snack for us to eat/drink when we stop by. It was truly a positive and happy day for all of us and I´m very glad that I got to spend it with my dearest friends.
A couple of days later we traveled to Sarajevo to spend our Summer holiday here, as you also can see by some of the newest photos.
I really hope you like this post, let me know what you think!
